Each Council Member and Mayor serves a two year term. The Mayor and two council members are elected on even years and three council members are elected on odd years. Elections are held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.

City Council Meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Itasca Municipal Court, 136 N. Hill, Itasca, Texas.
The agenda is posted the previous Thursday. The public is welcome to attend. If you have an item that you would like to have the council address, please contact the City Secretary with your request and the topic you wish to discuss.
City Hall is a bustling work environment with the collection of utility billing by GiGi Morgan, Kat McDaniel, and Megan Bayse. Everyday City Hall employees are faced with a variety of situations, from a water leak to a stray dog, and each are treated in a professional manner and solve as quickly as possible.
Serving as the “Nerve Center” of City Hall is the Office of the City Administrator, CinDee Garrett. CinDee is responsible for the preparation & dissemination of the City Council meeting agendas, packets, recording accurate minutes of their proceedings, engrossing and enrolling all laws, ordinances and resolution of the City of Itasca, TX. She is also responsible for city payroll, insurance, processing and disbursing funds for payment, finance audits, publishing appropriate financial statements & reports.
Itasca Welcomes New Construction
The City of Itasca continues to see growth within the community. Over the last several years a number of new homes have been constructed. Currently there are 3 homes either under construction or slated to start soon, including a Habitat for Humanity home. These homes are a boost for the town as well as for the tax roll.

Itasca needs businesses and they continue to come gradually. Several interested merchants have made inquiries as to the availability of buildings suitable for opening a business. City Hall is working hard to make the community as inviting as possible. Businesses add to Itasca’s tax base but also to the appeal when potential companies and people investigate the opportunities of locating to Itasca.
With the building of new homes, renovated homes, and businesses, the City of Itasca is not only building new neighborhoods but also new lives.
